2024 INFORMATION
Location:
Dance West 2024 will be held at The University of Utah’s Marriott Center for Dance (July 15 - 19) and at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts (July 22 - 26) in downtown Salt Lake City which is the home of Repertory Dance Theatre, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, and several other arts organizations. The surrounding area offers tremendous recreational activities both for urban and wilderness exploration. Salt Lake City is known for its unique, vibrant culture, museums, nightlife, mountains, deserts, the Great Salt Lake and the Salt Flats. Salt Lake City has numerous bus lines and TRAX (an extensive light rail system) allowing for easy travel around the Salt Lake Valley without needing a car.
Parking:
Daily paid visitor parking is available adjacent to the Marriott Center for Dance at the University of Utah.
If participants would like on-campus parking, they can purchase a “U” Parking Permit for the Summer Semester on the website. Participants would first create a “Visitor Login” account and then contact Commuter Services with any questions about purchasing the permit.
The “U” permit will offers parking in the lot directly next to the Marriott Honors Housing as well as the stadium parking lot (7 minute walk from the Marriott Center for Dance).
Participants are encouraged to take TRAX or public transportation as well.
There is paid street parking, parking garages, and paid lots in the vicinity of the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. You may find free all-day and two-hour parking near Pioneer Park. However, we strongly encourage participants to help our air quality by utilizing public transportation, bikes, and foot traffic whenever possible.
Housing:
Housing is available for 2-Week Dance West participants!*
Deadline to Register: June 13, 2024
The Marriott Honors Housing is located on the University of Utah campus next to the Fort Douglas TRAX stop, as well as within walking distance of the Marriott Center for Dance. Participants can expect apartment-style housing at $450 total. Housing registration will open when workshop registration opens. Parking is not included.
